Pregnancy and Nutrition
When you are pregnant, having a good your diet is essential. Remember, your nutrition is feeding you and your unbornchild. Eat well balanced meals and supplement with prenatal vitamins.
Include the following in you daily diet:
- 3 or more servings of meat and/or protein
- 4 or more servings of fruits and/or vegetables
- 5 or more servings of milk or dairy products (provides calcium)
- 7 to 11 servings of whole-grain or enriched bread and/or cereal
Include the following vitamins and minerals:
- .8 mg (800 mcg) of vitamin A and Beta Carotene
- .1 mg (10 mcg) of vitamin D
- .8 mg (800 mcg) of vitamin E
- 75-100 mg of vitamin C
- 1.5 mg of Thiamin (vitamin B1)
- 1.6 mg of Riboflavin (vitamin B2)
- 2 mg of Niacin (vitamin B3)
- 450 mg of Pyridoxine (vitamin B6)
- .4 mg (400mcg) of Folic Acid
- 1200-600 mg of Calcium
- 30-40mg of Iron
- 80 mg of Protein (supplemental)
- 15 mg of Zinc
Your diet is one of the most important parts of your pregnancy. Take what you eat seriously.
